Civil liability insurance is mandatory for all RVs in Quebec. The provincial government requires liability insurance of at least $50,000 for all RVs, which covers you in Canada and the United States. However, other covers are optional. That said, it's highly recommended that you take out other coverages — such as comprehensive insurance, collision/damage insurance, etc. to protect your recreational vehicle from potential damage.
The Quebec Auto Insurance Act requires liability coverage of at least $50,000, which can protect you from liability claims if you are held liable for injuries or property damage by another party, but it is strongly recommended that you extend this amount to approximately $1,000,000 or $2,000,000 in liability.
This coverage included in your standard RV insurance provides compensation for rehabilitative treatments and medical expenses in the event of an unexpected injury, as well as for any loss of additional income or funeral expenses resulting from disability or death due to an insured accident.
“All risks” and “collision” covers are optional, as with any car insurance, but they can be very useful if your vehicle is damaged or destroyed as a result of a collision with another vehicle or object, or if it is damaged or destroyed as a result of a storm, fire, vandalism, or even theft.
